What indigenous Ghanaian languages is widely spoken across West Africa

I know that Asanti Twi is the most widely spoken indigenous or local language in Ghana, however, I was having a conversation with a friend last night and he was saying that in spite of Twi being the most spoken local language in Ghana, it also the most widely spoken Ghanaian language in West Africa.

So fellow Ghanaians, it is true that Twi is the most widely spoken indigenous Ghanaian language in West Africa or he was just bluffing?

Not possible. This is because there are languages like ewe and fulbe which are spoken in more than three countries in west Africa. Infact ewe reaches as far as Cameroon and Gabon. Fulbe is spoken by more than 20% of the population of Guinea, Gambia, Senegal and also serves as a major spoken language in Mali, Niger, Chad, Mauritania etc.
